1. Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand

Being named after one of the most famous wildlife story writers, Jim Corbett National Park is one of the oldest and best national parks in India established in 1936. Located at the foothills of the Nainital district of Uttrakhand. The Corbett National Park is home to the great Bengal Tigers (Panthera tigris Tigris). A total number of 252 tigers now. The best time to visit Jim Corbett National Park is in the winter (November to June) as in the Monsoon season park remains closed. There is a total of 488 different species of plants and 586 species of resident and migratory birds have been recorded here in the park. The dense wilderness of the park attracts tourists from all over the world. It has also been featured in many wildlife documentaries to raise awareness towards the existence of Bengal Tigers.

The distance from Delhi to Jim Corbett national park is around 250 km and approx. 7 hours journey by car. The nearest Railway station is Ramnagar around 12 km from Park and you can take a taxi from here to Park.

2. Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Kerela

This is the only national park in the Western Ghats of Kerala, Southern India that has an artificial lake flowing through the forests. The Periyar Wildlife sanctuary (also known as Thekkady) is located near the Evergreen Hills of the Western Ghats and is also one of the Tiger Reserves in India. The visitors can view the magnificent beasts of this forest while boating in Periyar Lake. One can also see animals such as Elephants, Deers, Langurs, and many more.

It is famous for its Tigers and elephant reserve forest. The best time to visit the sanctuary is September to April. There are around 35 species of animals,266 species of birds, and 45 species of reptiles 800 Elephants in the Park. The nearest airport is the Madurai airport and which is around 14 km from Periyar and another nearby airport is Cochin International airport in Kochi.

3. Sundarbans National Park, West Bengal

The Sundarbans is one of the oldest and largest national parks in India. Sharing its boundaries with Bangladesh, the enriched in Mangrove Forests, the Sundarbans is the original home of the Royal Bengal Tigers. The Sundarbans National Park is home to the largest number of Bengal Tigers than any other wildlife sanctuary in the world.

Sundarban National Park was declared as a Tiger Reserve in 1973. The Sundarbans forest is the home to more than 390 tigers. 4. Kaziranga National Park, Assam

Kaziranga National park is located in the Golaghat district of Assam, the Park is home to the One-Horned Rhinos in India and the world. Apart from The Indian rhinoceros, Wild boar, Barasingha deer, Golden langur, reptiles, Vultures, Hog deer, Pallas’s fish eagle, Asian elephants also found in the Kaziranga. The rhino population in Park is around 2,430. Kaziranga National park is the largest wildlife sanctuaries in India.

There are two nearby airports to the park which are Guwahati International and Jorhat Airport, which is around 217 km and 97 km away from the park. The nearby railway station is Furkating which is around 75 km from the park. From this station, you can take the roadway to reach the park by taxi or bus services. The main gate of the  Park is located in a small Kohora town that is connected with the NH 37 directly.

5. Ranthambore National Park, Rajasthan

Located near the Banas and Chambal River, this wildlife sanctuary is home to predators such as Tigers, Leopard (130), Nilgai, Wild Boar, Hyena, and Tigers. 6. Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh

It is located in Umaria, Madhya Pradesh. The Bandhavgarh National Park is also a renowned name in the list of Top 10 Wildlife Sanctuaries of India. Being declared as a national park in 1968, the Bandhavgarh National Park is home to the great tigers. The Park is also home to a significant number of Leopards and Deers, and let’s not forget the endangered White Tiger.
